Insert battery into battery compartment until retaining clip engages

Powering On
After the unit has fully charged, power on the unit by holding the power button for five sections, or until the power indicator LED lights up. The reason the power button must be held down for five seconds is to prevent accidentally powering it on and discharging the battery prematurely.
Initializing The Secure digital Card
The first time you access a SD card the unit will write several folders to the card. Files must be placed in the correct folder to be accessed y the device. Some of the folders may even be created even if the card is write protected. The folders should be as follows; DCIM with sub-folder 100MEDIA, EBOOK, FLASH, GAME & MP3.
Menus
Video Rec - THIS IS HOW TO RECORD FROM YOUR SPORT-CAM
Connect your sport cam to the battery pack (ensure the battery pack is switched on) and then to the yellow AV lead supplied with the recorder. Plug the lead into the top of the recorder into the socket marked AV IN. Select the VIDEO REC from the menu and press the ENTER key. You should now see the feed from your Sport-Cam on the screen.
In the top left hand of the screen you will see either 320x240 or 640x480 written in yellow. This is the resolution it will record in. 320x240 is low quality, 640x480 is high quality. To change the quality of the recording press MODE, you will then see a menu on the screen with VIDEO SIZE, VIDEO FORMAT and EXIT. Go to VIDEO SIZE and press the RIGHT arrow. You now have another menu with 320x240 and 640x480, press the DOWN button to highlight 640x480 and press ENTER. You are now in high quality mode.
To change the recording format press MODE, you will then see a menu on the screen with VIDEO SIZE, VIDEO FORMAT and EXIT. Go to VIDEO FORMAT and press the RIGHT arrow. You now have another menu with ASF and AVI, press the DOWN button to highlight AVI and press ENTER. You are now in AVI recording mode.
To start recording press the ENTER button (you will see the timer start at the bottom right hand side of the screen). To end the recording press the ESCAPE button. (you will see the timer at the bottom of the screen stop.
Audio (MP3 Player)
Pressing the Enter key when the AUDIO icon is highlighted opens the audio explorer. In the right panel you will se a list of audio files stored in the MP3 folder of either the internal flash memory or the SD card depending on which is selected. In the left panel is displayed information about whatever file is highlighted. Including title, bit rate, sample rate, number of channels, track length and whether the file is locked or not.
Pressing the “MENU” button allows you to turn on “LOOP MODE” , protect the file, delete the file or enter equalizer mode. There are five equalizer presets – normal, classic, popular, bass and rock.
Pressing Enter button plays the selected song and Escape exits audio mode.
Photo
Pressing the Enter key when the PHOTO icon is highlighted opens the picture viewer. In the right panel you will se a list of photo files stored in the DCIM folder sub-folder 100MEDIA, of either the internal flash memory or the SD card depending on which is selected. IN the left panel is displayed a thumbnail image and information about whatever file is highlighted. Including title and file size.
Pressing MENU allows you to select the display mode. Your choices are Thumbnails, List and Slide.
Slide cycles through all the photos while playing music. Pressing the ESC button exits the slide mode. You can also protect selected files or delete one or all of the files There are two other choices “ON MENU” and “OFF MENU” If you select ON MENU whatever photograph is highlighted will be displayed during powering the unit on. Selecting OFF MENU will display the selected photograph for a few moments during shutdown.
Built in camera (NOT SPORT-CAM)
Pressing the Enter key when the CAMERA icon is highlighted puts the unit into still camera mode. Pressing the MENU button takes a photograph. Pressing the Left and Right multifunction buttons increase and decrease the digital zoom up to 4X.
Pressing the MODE button brings up the mode menu. You can then select one of three modes, SINGLE, CONTINUOUS and self. Selecting SELF starts a 10 second timer every time the MENU button is pressed until another mode is selected.
Size, you have the choice of six sizes for your photos, 320x240, 640x480, 800x500, 1024x768, 1280x1024, and 1600x1200.
Quality, you may set the camera to high, middle or low quality.
Effect, you have seven effects to choose from – Normal, Negative, Solaris, Relief, Binaries, Sepia and Black and White. Fortunately you can preview the results of the selected effect in the view screen. Exiting and return to camera mode automatically resets the effect to normal.
Contrast, you have three contrast settings to choose from High, Middle or Low.

DV
Pressing the Enter key when the DV icon is highlighted puts the unit into Video camera mode. Pressing the MENU button begins filming. Pressing the Left and Right multifunction buttons increase and decrease the digital zoom up to 4X.
Pressing the MODE button brings up the mode menu.
You can then select one of four video sizes, 160x128 320x240, 640x480 and 720x480.
Video Format – your choices are ASF or AVI
Quality, you may set the camera to high, middle or low quality.
Contrast, you may set the camera to high, middle or low contrast.
Audio REC
Pressing the Enter key when the Audio Rec icon is highlighted puts the unit into voice recorder mode.
Pressing the enter button begins recording sound. A file name will be displayed along with the bit rate and sample rate. The is no way to change these settings. Pressing Escape stops the recording.
Game
Tetris, Box, Playroom
Playroom is where Nintendo Entertainment Systems games are accessed
Only NES ROMS are supported. The direction controls, Enter, Esc, and Menu button is used in game play.
Learning
Dict. Spell the word to look up using the direction multifunction keys in the virtual keyboard located at the bottom right of the screen. Press Mode button and the definition will be displayed in Chinese.
E-Book only supports a .TXT file type and must be ANSI code
The E-Book reader displays 57 characters per line and does not wrap whole words to th next line. For ease o f reading using a text editor to set the margins to 57 characters before saving the file could improve readability.
There are no other settings or modes available for E-Book viewing at this time.
Tool
Calendar
Pressing the Mode button changes the highlighted function. The up/down direction buttons changes the month and yar.
Calc.
Use the direction buttons to highlight numbers and functions and the Enter button to select, Esc, exists the program.
Notepad
Notepad can be used to read .TXT file but has a smaller file size limit then the E-Book reader.
Memory
The memory tool is used to switch between the internal flash memory and cards inserted into the SD reader.
Upgrade
Upgrade is used to upgrade the unit firmware (flash the BIOS). IMPORTANT The firmware upgrade file must be the correct version for your mode! Firmware for the 2GB unit will not work in the 1GB model and may render it inoperable.

Video
Your unit is optimized for viewing video files. It supports MP4, AVI, ASF and XVIDat 640x480 or 320x240 resolutions at up to 30 frames per second. (NOTE, video files with less than 25 FPS may not fast forward or rewind correctly). The screen is 16:9 aspect ratio configured to add blank bands to 4:3 sources.
Video files must be placed in the 100media folder to play.
Pressing the left and right
To fast forward and rewind press the MODE button one time then press the right or left direction buttons.
USB
Connecting your unit to a computer via USB is very straight forward. Open the USB cover on the top of the unit.. Power on the unit. Plug the small end of the provided USB cable into the unit. Connect the other end to your computer. Most computers that support USB 2.0 will not require drivers, consult your computers manual.

Trouble Shooting
Will not power on
Press and hold power button for 4-5 seconds

Cannot see my files
Change unit to the memory where the files are located, by selecting “tools” then “memory” then Flash (internal) or SD.
Make sure the files are located in the appropriate folder, ie video files must be copies to the DCIM folder and the sub folder 100Media
